First time out

Finally after about a year restoring my argo and a lot of help from you guys. I finally got to take it out. Took it to canada to our family fishing cottage. Got many weard looks driving it down the ramp into the water. It ran and drove better then I would have imagined got stuck once and lost my left break coming back from one of the lakes. took tons of video as soon as I figure out how to edit them Ill post

Even though you still have a few bugs to work out with the brakes, it has to feel good to finally get to enjoy your Argo. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Maybe someone can help me with a little more experience with machanical breaks. It seems I have to jerk back on them real hard no mater what speed I am goning I got out the feeler gage and they are set to specs. is this normal or am i missing somting.

That first time in water can be spooky.lol.....Looking good.As far as the brakes,Have you replaced the little spring in the calipers?

Congrats on your build, looks good

As for your brakes........... my initial thought is that you may have some grease or oil on the pads. Even a tiny bit of grease/oil will effect their performance.

Thats a good thought ill look into it where I ride are old loging trails . Rock Doc after watching all of your video I went out an bought a pair of I-Kam glasses they are fantastic everyone who has seen the footage now owns a pair. what software do you use to edit the video?

I attempted to replace the springs but not really sure how many I need or how hard of a spring I need. It also may be the driver this was my first time out Ill post video as soon as I can get them edited down

Dont cheat on brake clearance,get the full.030.To little clearance will heat up the brakes and they wont have a chance to cool down. If this happens, sterring will be very poor and a jerk is what it takes to lock up on side.I have had a couple of mechanical brakes and it does take some effort to lock up on side even when things are perfect.

I am with you my breaks are heating up is their a way to keep them cool? but over all the argo handled better then I ever imagened. It did not beat me up as much as my old 4 wheeler did I can actually walk the next day.
