Does anyone have a picture of the stock engine mount for the 8 hp Briggs? The one that was in it is very rough and certainly not original based on the horrible welding and torch burned holes. I can fab a new one but I was hoping to see a picture of what the original looked like.

Thanks Jpswift1. That helps me out a lot. I was really wondering if the front section of the mount bolted to the bearing caps on the BH6000 or if there was another support that bolted to the angled section of the transmission. I realized last night while trying to make some sketches and looking at the old one that I need to modify it anyways. I am replacing the original B&S 8 hp from 1970 with a newer unit that has a ball bearing on the pto end of the crank. That offsets the engine more than the original adjustment will allow to get the belt lined up right.

Sorry so late- just spotted this thread. If I can get out there today, I'll get a couple pictures of the 208 mounts.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

Hi Don....that would be great. Anything will help. I am starting to build my mock up of the drive train in my basement. Waiting for warm(er) weather to get working on the tub. The frame is looking nice. It is all powder coated and I had all of the steering related rods etc zinc plated. I completely disassembled the BH6000, sand blasted the frame and rebuilt it with all new bearings and hardware. I decided to keep the original copper brake pucks. They were pretty glazed but I scuffed them up a bit. Hopefully that was not a mistake! I will post some pictures of it soon!
