Gas tank repair

Just looked at my 300ST gas tank and it has a huge crack on the bottom. Is it possible to patch this tank? Any idea what it is made of?

Post a pic of your tank. I have had several early Attex, and the tanks were always steel. The newer Attex used hope tanks. Both can be welded, just different styles of welding.

I have a tank from a 440 thunderchief 1974?? My tank is opaque plastic . Freight from AK will be high because of size of box required. l will sell for 10$ plus freight charges.

The original gas tank on an ST/300 will be HDPE. If the crack isn't too bad, you can stitch (melt) it back together with a hot iron (read: propane torch and a screwdriver). A more elegant approach is to plastic weld it back together. They respond fairly well to this simple repair.
