Attex yellow body help

Hi all, been a while since I have been here. I have the frame and driveline of my 208tt ready to go. I mixed up some goo and made a few repairs to the body. Now I am trying to get the body looking decent. It is faded and oxidized and has dark streaks through it. I tried using some 100 g paper with an orbital sander and it just is not evening out. If I rub it with acetone it gets streaky and just not uniform in color. Is there anything else I could try? Anyone have any luck painting them? I really want to get this thing back together!!

I have had great luck with those round disks you put in a hand drill. I had to have water runnyngvon it to keep plastic from gumming up the disk. Course to fine. Then acetone rub will bring it to a real nice shine.

Here is a pic of my progress. I am not sure what to do about the darker streaks. I also posted a few more pics in my album...208TT REBUILD. Let me know what you think!

It looks like the darker streaks could be from dirty/oxidized parts of the body getting melted into the plastic after the abs treatment. Try pressure washing the grime off, then sanding it, then once it's clean do the acetone treatment again and the yellow color should be nice and consistent throughout.

I power washed it a couple of times already. Used some heavy duty de-greaser too. What is the best way to do the acetone treatment? Maybe I am not doing it right.

Do it in small 3x3 sections. Use a CLEAN white rag, like an old towel or washcloth. Pour some acetone on the rag, make a circular motion, repeat using a clean part of the rag. Don't do this in the sun, make sure you're doing it in the shade.
