Jim (ARGOJIM) found a couple of cool Attex articles/brochures on the web. I don't remember reading these before:

All-terrain vehicles are the latest symptom of America's - 11.02.70 - SI Vault

    Pop-up Camper History

That was all interesting. The major drawback to the camper would have been the Vega!

Cool stuff! Thanks ArgoJim for sharing this stuff!

In the first link it says regarding David McCahill. "After he and his partner, Roger Flannery, distributed another brand of ATV for a brief period, they opened the doors of ATV Manufacturing in 1968. " Can anybody guess what the other brand was?
I guess he felt he couldn't get enough inventory to sell so he decided to build his own. So ATV manufacturing(attex) was born.

I find it interesting that Attex and ski tow (stalker) both made pop up campers. any other ATV manufacturer in the camping business?

Not 100% sure if the made pop ups but Sierra trail boss and StarCraft maybe? Think they did.

And David McCahill distributed amphicats before starting up attex.

I know of 3 Attex campers that belong to members. Does anyone know of any more around? I'll take one in any condition or just pieces.

The thing I found most interesting was that the green was available from the factory in 1970, have yet to see a true green 297 or 300 yet, unless they were painted.
Also found a nice tank trainer picture, in my gallery.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
                      Joe Camel never does that.

I have this nos 1st generation engine cover. It was never used and never had the screen in it. Weird color.

I've seen pictures of first generation machines in the dark green "camo" color and even found one for sale a long while ago (badly cracked up). In 1972 or 3 we were racing a first gen machine and needed a new bottom half because ours was so abused. We found a dark green one that a dealer had- seemed to be tougher stuff than the yellow for some reason. They must not have been as popular in green as the later ones, though; you never see them.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

                          (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

I wonder how many Attex were made all together?

                              Here's a brochure I've never seen before.

I also added more pictures to my gallery.
