  • Attex Superchief Pictures or Drawings

Does anyone have a good side shot of an Attex or a an AutoCAD drawing of the side of an Attex? I need a good perfectly parallel photo that I can use to figure out how my new roll cage is going to look. I would like to draw it in AutoCAD or use the file that someone else created. If I create one, I will share it here.

    Thanks,
    Lance

Lance, I know Nick O has an Attex modeled in 3D. Maybe contact the young man.

I do have multiple 6 wheelers in 3D. What are the requirements for the cage and is the seat stock or a racing seat? My racer cage was designed with this model.

Stock seat. The cage will be loosely based on a Hustler /Sidewinder design.
Can you export a side view to a .dxf file? What program are you using for your designs?

          Something like JBF's?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
          Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Yes, something along those lines. Something to push the trees out of the way.
Not as much of an angle to the back (I'm not that tall). Also the same concept to not have a "roll bar" catch trees, but to have the outer edges smooth to let the machine slide along the tube.

I was very happy with my new cage at Haspin. When I built it, I angled the bars just to make it look better. At Haspin it became very apparent how few trees grow at a 90 degree angle to the ground.....and the ground there was never horizontal. I never caught a single tree....well with the cage anyway, can't say the same for the bark that ended up in a tire bead.
The bends are 70 degrees and I don't remember the angle each hoop is tipped back, but that would be different on an Attex anyway.[IMG][/IMG]

I was wondering if your roll cage is actually bolted to the edge of the tub Buggyman and how well does it hold up. I was starting to make one for my Max2 and was planning on cutting holes in the top and bolting it to the frame. if I can bolt it to the outer side of the tub it will make life easier.

I use a free polygonal modeling software called Blender 3D. It's used for game models and renders. I've included an exported .dxf file and blueprints I made if the file doesn't work. To make the model I used my camera and zoomed in as tight to the body as I could to give it an orthographic view, and then modeled on top of the pictures.

When you import the model it probably won't be smoothed, I'm not sure how you do that in CAD. Also, the model isn't finished so there are some little things wrong with it.

                        Awesome!
It will take me a while to get a nice 2D drawing out of it. I don't work in 3D, but this may convert me The pictures are exactly what I need to get a concept though.
                        Thanks!

This cage on member cj-ate's superchief looks to be along the lines you are talking. Maybe not as angled but with a shorter machine it is hard to get the angles and not hit your head on the cross bar.

My hoops will run from front to back. That's the main difference.

The 3D drawing is absolutely awesome! The more I look at it, the more detail I see!
I may need to hire you to draw my cage when I get the general concept and measurements done.
