  • Where to get replacement axles?

I've got some bent axles on the Attex and would like to find some replacements. I tried to straighten the worst one with a hydraulic pipe bender and it's better, but not great.

    Bent Axels

    Hi JRP3,

This winter i broke an axel on my 1984 Argo. I went to a place who can machine them. Mine was really easy to make since they are 1 1/4 diameter and the only thing to do was to drill 3 holes at the end and weld the outside flange where the wheel bolt . My axel was 110$ +15% tax at the Argo dealer to have the same thing that i have. Tha machine shop charge me 110$ no tax and made it with stronger 4340 steel. Since then it s holding pretty good. One peace of advice... Never try to reweld a broken axel... i tried and last 15 min...

Yeah maybe I'll hit Whipper up. Mine are 1 inch with a hole for the sprocket and the flange welded on, not very complicated. I also found this site:

          Anyone ever deal with them?

I have never dealt with that company, but I have to say that Whipper does top notch work on his axles. They are seriously some of highest quality crafted units and they are built super tough. Whipper could also recomend what you could use for stronger material as well. I believe 4140 heat treated would work the best for you, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Talk to the man.
