ABS idea. thoughts?

while fixing some cracks in my abs body, i noticed that the acetone brought back the shine to any area where i brushed it on. i've been sanding and have it mostly done down to 320 grit. just to see what it would do, i brushed some acetone on a sanded area and it is shinny as new. this has me pondering the idea of filling a paint gun with acetone, and spraying it over the whole tub. let it sit untill it dries to a shine. has anyone tried this? results? anyonw have any ideas on why i shouldn't try it?

Hey Racerone,
I havent tried the gun but I did get a good lint free cloth and soak it in acetone and wipe it on. I seem to work well. It seems to melt the abs and fill in little cracks/imperfections and makes it appear like new. I am not sure just spraying it on would do much but it could . If you do try it let me know.
