  • 4 stroke engine - mechanical adaptation

    Hello everyone,

I (think I) have overhauled the T20 (thanks to the excellent video on youtube). The bottom mounting holes are worn out, thinking of getting helicoil inserts or are there better ways to remedy this?
To get going I would like to try out a 4 stroke (before taking more time and setting up the JLO engine).
I am looking for suggestions for the mechanical adaptation, only found one pic using U-channels.
I have set the engine flat and it appears the existing hole row and the bottom holes on the engine work for the outward but not the inner side. Also tried the elevated mount (for the JLO), but the bottom holes go beyond that.
    Again, any suggestions welcome,

    cheers

You can use a flat piece of steel and on the one bolt set bolt it through and the other bolt just the engine. Then tie in the other frame mount.
As for the T20 the Helicoils will work fine.
