  • Vanguard 18 transplant needs a clutch

I've got a used Vanguard 18 that I'd like to put into my Attex Chief 400, but it needs a clutch. Can anyone recommend what clutch I should look for? I will be using this for trail riding. I've been searching the forum but haven't seen anything specific mentioned.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Tom

Buy this. Don't change a thing on it. Bolt it on and go.

agreed. a lot of people will tell you that you have to change the spring in the secondary, but you don't HAVE TO. I have several machines running the 2 stroke spring that work quite well

I agree you dont have to change the secondary spring but like chiefdiesel found out in heavy loads and climbing he had issues.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll order one up. I won't be hauling any heavy loads, but there could be some hills in its future. I'll tackle that later if it becomes an issue.

In a machine that light, it probably won't ever be an issue. My Wild Wolf with the 18 Vanguard (same basic machine) goes anywhere I point it and has never had the spring changed

Even places it shouldn't, even with lights.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
