  • I now have an Argo!

I've taken the plunge and put my money down and bought a 2001 bigfoot. Got everything 'in' that I was looking for... skid plate, winch, windshield, soft-top (canvas), bearing extensions on the front, and a set of tracks for the winter.

For the age of it all seems reasonable, I'm going to have to replace a rear outer bearing on the back and maybe one in the middle too. I think I'll have to change the back chains and do some work on one of the rear chain tensioners. I've crafted a home made oil vacuum to suck the oil out of the engine and transmission as the engine oil looks well past a change. I haven't tried it yet as I haven't found an oil filter for less than $30 and don't want to put the synthetic oil in until I have a filter. I'll let you know how it works and how I did it if it's a success.

I'm located in Argo's (ODG) back yard in Cambridge Ontario but am having issues locating some parts at reasonable prices. I'm wondering if some of the members from Ontario could give me guidance on 60 hd chain, bearings, & oil filter in the Kitchener Waterloo, Cambridge area of Ontario.

I haven't looked into insurance yet either, but have read many posts on the forum about various successes and hassells people have had. I'll put my broker to the test soon.

    Thanks in advance.

Sent you a PM with some local info on suppliers but I noticed your post is in the Attex section.
Perhaps posting in the Argo section will get you more results?
