  • Help with ST300

I bought this ST300 attex but the body is shot, we live in wisconsin, does anyone have a body for sale in my neck of the woods??? What is the difference
between the bakerhill 5000 & 7000 trans??? If i change the engine in this machine, does the motor mount change from the single to the twin???
Thanks for all the help. Greg

The difference between the 5000 transmission and the 7000 transmission is the difference in the diameter of the main shaft. A 7000 has a 1" shaft while a 5000 has a 3/4" shaft I believe. The motor mount position depends on what type of two cylinder you plan on putting in the machine. I had to custom build a motor mount for my Attex racer that uses a 7000 transmision because my engine a JLO/Cuyuna 440 is a wide motor and the fan case and pull starter would have hit the chains on the right side of the machine. There for the motor had to be raised up (so the fan case and pull starter were above the chains on the right hand side) and moved over so the clutches lined up also. Let us know what type of engine you plan on installing and we can help you out a little more. Good luck with the swap.

        RE: Engine Swap:

The engine I am installing is a 440 JLO 35 HP, it looks like the 7000 trans has
no reverse?? and the 5000 does??? I am in the process for installing a attex
drive train in a jiger body. I have a bakerhill 5000 trans and a 440JLO to
hook up along with the axles and sprockets. It should be a real killer when
        its finished.

The 7000 had reverse but I removed it to make it a "straight shaft" race transmission, like the Baker Hill 6000. A 440 JLO will really move that machine, especially when you put an Attex drive train in a Jiger......very cool project!!!
