I just bartered this 6x6 and I need help identifying what model it is. I have attached pics in hopes figuring what it is. The previous owner had the engine rebuilt from top to bottom, new(he actually found a brand new) crank the whole works. It has a JLO Rockwell motor in it. It has electric start, I am trying to figure out how it needs to be wired. It appears there are three wires coming out the back side of the motor (if i remember right, two blues and a yellow, or two yellows and a blue). Can someone also tell me the correct wiring for this... Thanks so much, my 9 and 4 year old boys are very antsy to ride this baby. Thanks in advance.

Help with Identification of my Attex

that's a first generation Attex. a 208TT i think. as for your wiring, i believe the 2 yellow are charge, and the blue a kill wire. the charge wires will be AC current and need a regulator to make DC voltage. the kill wire will shut off the engine when hooked to ground. it gets wired to the M (for magneto) pole on the back of the ignition switch.
good luck getting it up and running. the little ones will love it. i can hardly keep mine out of the 6 wheelers!A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Thanks racerone3 for the quick reply. So the two yellow(charge) wires....is one for charging the battery and the other for the lights? Also, you mentioned the ignition switch... i don't actually have the key for it, is there a master key sold somewhere or is it just best to replace the switch? If so, do you have any idea where I could get that?

the yellow are both charge. AC current. you will hook both to a regulator and then have a red and black (+&-) DC wires coming out of the regulator. i use a lawn tractor switch for my machines. use the search on the site for "attex wiring" and you should find some diagramsA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I think the machine may be either a model 297 (first model produced by Attex) or an ST300D. If the transmission shaft is 3/4" at the end, it's a 297. The indak switches are pretty primative and most any indak key will fit....or a pocket knife, paper clip, hair pin, nail file, sharp stick...etc
I've got extra keys if you need one.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
(6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far
