If you wanted to a lot of custom fabrication work, I'm sure there could be, but as far as a stock machine goes for the 1973 model year, no other transmissions were used. The T-20 in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other 6x6World members is the hands down best AATV transmission ever made. It is still being built today for use in Max AATV's, so I really don't know why anyone would want to replace it with something else.......if it isn't broke, don't fix it kind of thing.

ya mine is broken and i was just wondering if there was a cheaper way out than fixing my old t 20
Fixing your T-20 would be the best way to go. Just take a look around the for salle section of the site. There was a T-20 for sale recently for a great price in the $300 range.

T-20s have been around for nearly 40 years. There is really a huge used parts resource to cull useable stuff from, especially from the users on the board here. Find out what parts you need, and maybe somebody here can find something for you at a great price. We're all here to help...

Reason: omitted apostrophe from "T-20's", since it's not possessive.
How to rebuild your Borg Warner Skid Steer T20 transmission from start to finish. This article has over 100 pictures and detailed instructions for rebuilding the tranny in your 6x6 amphibious atv

do you know of anyone that would be able to fix my t 20?
Yeah, we'll need a little information on what it does vs. doesn't do. It could be something as simple as a plunger being out of adjustment, to something as serious as a broken main shaft. Who knows; there could be a cheeseburger wrapper in there being used as a bushing.... Let's get some specifics!

Just lay the parts out in the order they are removed. Then replace in reverse order, mark your bands as you remove them for their placement(inner and outer for left and right sides) and be sure to have the band anchor pins lined up with the hole in the center plate or the halves won't pull up tight. Other than that the T-20 is not nearly as complicated as it would seem. It looks scary til ya put a wrench on it.
DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION
