  • belly band, roll cage, and cargo rack

After several long nights in the shop, I got my cage built. I built it out of 1 1/2" x .065 tubing for the cage and used 1" x .058 tube for the racks. I made it so that it can be removed from the belly band via pins. It prolly weighs 30lbs. Thanks to my generous employer I was able to tig weld the hole thing together after tacking it in place in my garage. I used a small ancient drill press with a whole saw and vice to notch the tube. A portable band saw for all the cuts. And bent all my bends with a $100 pipe bender using a modifed die. It took around 20hrs from start to finish. I got it painted today. It will be installed tommorrow. I didn't take as many pics of the build as I would have liked to but here is a few. Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Man, you put a ton of work into that cage and Attex. The before and after pictures are quite different. Good job.

          Very nice work!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
