We shorehorned a JLO/Cuyuna 440 into JP's first racer with minimal mods. It was tough to line the belt up with the Baker Hill 6000, but it worked just fine. You may run into issues with the carburetor fitting. I honestly don't remember how we tackled it. He may have actually cut it around that area, but you can get around it.
When faced with clearance issues, don't resort to cutting as a first attempt. Heat the body up and mold it out with some sort of dolly, like a block of wood, or a metal bowl. Much more elegant, and it shows you're thinking about what your'e doing before grabbing the sawzall.
