    Hi J

Nice find on the Attex's, got a question. Is that a Pantera (hope i spelled it right) in one of the photos? Looks like one. See a few other sleepers back there. Good luck on the projects and keep us posted.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

      Hey Lewis,

I was going to guess a Lotus Esprit, vintage 80s.

        The shop of projects!!!

        Thanks guys,
George wins!!! It's a 87 lotus esprit. Nothin more than a 4 wheel, two wheel drive attex! Fiberglass body, rear engine. It's actually my brothers. He found it behind a dealership here in IL that was closing. It had been sitting there for three years and the guy said for 2 grand if you get it out of here today it's yours. It needs a few body parts to make complete, they got lost while it was going to get painted. It only has 40,000 miles. Lewis, my dad had a pantera many years ago. DeTomaso Pantera. The other cars are my dads, he has run a body/mechanical shop in our little town, for the past fifty years!! Keep you posted on the progress of the superchiefs, fired up the twin two stroke last night!! Got all the wiring done, hooking stuff back up, etc.
sigpic Attex, there is no substitute

          Old Attex Key Chain

I was working away from the shop all day today and when I went back to get my truck and go home, this was on the seat. I've been looking for one of these for years! Made my day. Maybe sometime I'll find out who got through the gate to the parking lot and left it for me!

Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

          (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

Started (and basically finished) the roll cage for the third racer over the weekend. Lots and lots of bending, lots of welding, lots of coffee! She'll be running Superchief running gear with an old Wild Wolf body. The pile of spare parts in the corner of the garage is getting smaller and smaller as I muddle through it and find stuff to bolt on the new kid. Both the R and the D/stock are keeping it company in the hangar, both of which need repairs of their own.

Looking good there Mike, will that machine be making an appearance in Ashtabula races?

                            Thanks dudes,

I certainly hope that at least a couple of racers will make it down to Ashtabula. If I can get all three fixed (frame and maybe a new cage on the R, and a new engine in the D/stock), I'm really going to try to coerce somebody with a pickup to haul one down there as I carry the other two on the trailer. I certainly don't NEEEEED to bring three racers with me, but I want to, and that's good enough for me.

I remember years ago, I had just bought my second Attex, and a friend of mine said something along the lines of "How many do you need? You can only drive one at once..."

                            I mean, DuuuUUUuuuhh?!

Oh yes you do.. I'm sure there will be more than a couple racers.
You're one of those guys everyone wants to race.

I think that's mainly because what I may lack in top speed and high-end doo-dads, I more than make up for with careless abandon for my personal welfare when I'm behind the sticks...
