  • New guy with questions about 295 wolf

I recently bought a 295 attex with a toasted motor. The rest of the drive line is verry sound but the tub has a lot of large cracks and thin spots. I want to use this attex for trapping. I was wondering what weight motor can you put i'n the back of this thing with out causing it to be more likely to sink. I have a 3 cylinder isuzu diesel that's 25 hp I could put in but weighs around 250 pounds. Should I look for a lighter motor? Also can you fiberglass over these tubs. Threw reading other posts I don't think the goop repair is going to work for the severity of my cracks. Or what other repair method is there for large cracks.

I think you would be better with a lighter engine. It seems the best way to repair the body is with acetone soaked scrap body parts. Some info on other posts.

I would probably use a combination of plastic welding, and ABS goo for large cracks. I have repaired some pretty large holes and cracks with the goo, and it has held up very well. I usually tape over the crack from one side, and start filling it from the other. apply the goo in thin layers and let it dry for a few days between coats
