I wonder if the Max IV axles would work......I'll check on that when I get up to RI next time.

I just did some measuring on my Attex & I figured 18 1/2" min. length for axles. So 18 3/4" would be perfect for the 1.25 conversion. I think you'd have to turn down the ends to fit the smaller inner bearings. Except you'd need a really good 5 hole wheel flange.

Just checking the fit on the bolt circles drilled with the fixture for the 62mm bearing flanges. What you see here is a mock up side plate of the new 2nd generation Attex Springer.

Cool! Whipper, it sure is looking like my green machine might have to become a springer in the future!

I didn't think Jeff would mind posting a pic of the new lower drivetrain for the Attex racer he's building. 4140 HT splined axles , billet wheel hubs, billet brake rotors & flame hardened sprockets. It's going to be one awesome Attex when he's done.

Wow, I am speechless! I am so glad that you posted this up, Whipper! This Attex is going to be so nice that I will probably spend more time sitting in a lawn chair staring at it in amazement that I will out riding it.

                  Hey Whipper,

That's some nice looking goodies there. Are the disks designed to replace the the disks on the front axles? It never occured to me that the original brake system could remain after the conversion. If this is the case, very cool!

Yeah, you can keep the disk brakes.

George, those rotors are going to replace the stock ones and they will use the stock front Attex calipers. I am so excited for this project. I just have to wait for the damn snow to melt up here in Western NY so I can get outside and put it all together. I dont think Whipper has to worry about any of that down in AZ.

The kit looks absolutely awsome, but it's no surprise considering the source That's going to be one awsome Attex.

                          You need more power, Jeff!

Don, I certainly agree with you, haha. That 16 HP Vanguard will only be in there temporarily. The beauty of the 6 chain set up and the Max II engine mounts will give me many options for power..........23 HP Briggs? 25 HP Kohler? Maybe a performance Briggs like in Whipper's springer? I just got done making brand new seats for it today and I put on all of the new inner bearings and another coat of paint on the frame. Its going to be sooooooooo hard for me to even think about taking this machine in the mud.

                              Whipper / jeff,

Just a quick question about the splined sprockets. How do you keep them located on the axle? Is it a 2 setscrew set up?

                              Mike
