  • attex with 7/8 axles-I need bearings

I just removed 2 axles from the crappy attex I got in a deal.It took me all day.I dont know why I'm wasting my time. The tub is shot.Someone zipscrewed many pieced of thin aluminum onn the bottom-numerous holes etc.Anyway I got 2 axles out and the inner bearings are bad.the axle shaft mic. at .88 which must be 7/8 inch.Anyone know the bearing numbers or the stock measurements? Most threads I read state 1" axles on Attexs. Thanks

If that is the smaller style axles then it has the squared ends then right? The sprocket tubes go through the inner bearings and then that makes the bearings 1" for the inner.

No squared ends. The axle is 7/8 round all the way end to end.The only thing removable from the shaft was the inner sprocket tube.Man what a pain in the neck removing that. The outer axle end is just the small ballon type studs and flange which is welded on the shaft.I have been reading all the attex forums and the attex repair manuals and I cant seem to find anything regarding 7/8 axles. It does have the early style round outer axle flange but some of the forum posts all state 1" bore for the bearings.Believe it or not the outer axle bearings are good and 4 out of the 6 inner axle bearings are shot.--Ok after rereading your answer I understand about the sprocket tubes but on my attex they do not go through the bearings.I will try to get a picture posted eventually.

JFYI The bearings are very easy standard type.Sold at tractor supply.I went to a farm and tractor store and got the bearings for $12 a piece.2" outside diameter-7/8" bore

That is so strange you have 7/8" axles. Thanks for update!
