  • Attex Toys

    Here is the first of three (that I know of) Attex toys that were made over the years. This one is from 1970 and it is made by Tootsie Toys. I saw this and just had to have it. It sits on my computer monitor and I do find myself playing with it every now and then, rolling it on the desk and driving over obstacles

      Im sure all of us 6 wheeler nuts would love to have a die cast 6 wheeler. Unfortunately I dont think theres enough of us out there for some company to make a production run of them.

          It's amazing the junk that piles up in the garage over the years. You can see the "parts machine" with the smaller Attex toys in the back. You never know when you'll need spares.

            Don, you have quite the collection there man. I have got to get me one of those small Attex's! What were the trophies for and what does that button on the wall beside the trophies say?

              Hey, Mike;

              The trophies are from the early 1970s NATVA races. The genaric ones were regional and the trophies with the Attex on top were national events. The button has an Attex advertising slogan "Is the great outdoors fun? You bet your sweet Attex" on it. They gave out bumper stickers with the same slogan on them. I've got a bunch of promotional junk like that put away. Next time I feel the need to pull all that stuff out and reminisce, I'll take some pics and post them here.

                  Here's another promotional item Attex gave out in the 1970s- A real (imitation) Zippo lighter. I don't know how common they are, but I had to have one. Sorry the picture's not clearer, but the logo is the same as the bumper stickers: "Is the great outdoors fun? You bet your sweet Attex".[IMG][/IMG]

                    Hmmmmm. A lighter listed under the "toys" section? Are you suggesting that fire is a toy? HMMM??

                      Well, we don't have a "lighter" section and I'm not sure there would be a lot of other entries if we did. Maybe Mike will install a section for promotional stuff and brochures.

                        That was great. Don, you have a lot of neat collectibles and I do like that "Zippo". For now promo things will stay in the corresponding forums but if we get enough stuff I will be happy to open up a new forum!

                          Here is a Buddy L Sierra Trail Boss and a Tootsie Toy Coot. Pretty neat toys. I guess AATV's were more popular in the 70's than I could ever imagine.

                              Unfortunately those arent mine. They were on ebay a few weeks ago and they ended up going for a pretty high price if I remember correctly.
