New Here Attex vs Max 2 Advice?

I have had 2 max's in the past, a 1989 with the Tecumseh 14 Horse, and a 2000 with the briggs 16 V-Twin and larger tires on it. I sure do miss the second one...anyway I've got the bug and I am new here so first post I need some advice! I have located a 1974 Attex Chief, in good shape, thats been sitting in storage for the past 5 years. "RAN WHEN HE PARKED IT" lol. Anyway, how does the Attex compare to a max. I relaize the 2 stroke is not desirable...but is 28 Horse too. Does the Attex swim better? The same? Whats the weak points? Any advice would help. Oh, and is $1200.00 for an Attex thats in good shape seem fair?

I love Attex!

You'd need to love them too if you buy one. The Max II would be easier to buy parts for. Their bigger axles don't bend as easy. They also have a poly (more durable) body. Attex bodies formed before 1976 were made of ABS and are on the brittle side.

Thanks for the info...I think I'll wait on another Max...or one of those Argo things...I hear they are the Cadillac but I have never had the oppourtunity to operate one.
