Very nice work! Get that nice freshly powder coated black frame in there and you're machine is going to look brand new. One of the best first generation Attexes out there for sure!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments! Well, I have spent many hours on the body and I think I am just about done. Today, I used rubbing compound and polish on the entire exterior. In doing so, I think my poor wetsanding skills were made obvious. The entire body looks 'wavy,' but I think it may just be the body showing its age because the 'waves' do not appear to be consistent with the method in which I did the wetsanding I must have caught some bad reflections when taking these pictures because it looks a bit better in person that it does on here. Anyway, the only thing I have left to do is the inside of the upper body, but I think I will do that after I get it back to a roller. Here are some pictures:

Simply amazing! This is absolutely the nicest first generation Attex restoration I've ever seen.

Even if your machine isn't ready, you should really try to get down to Ash' if only for a day or two. It's one of the (if not only) times of the year that a lot of the fast, obscure and downright strange machines tend to come out of the woodwork for a gathering. The trails are a lot of fun when the racing isn't going on, and the camping area is just beautiful. Heck, the entrance fee for the whole weekend is cheaper than a couple bearings! In the past, they haven't even minded that bums like the Buggyman show up on Wednesday.

You couldn't ask for better hosts than the Fischers.

Well Mike, I think you talked me into it! I have some vacation time to use up so I think Ill take it around that weekend. I'd like to try and find a little trail machine to have before then too, such as a little Max II or something since I haven't even started the hustler rebuild yet...and if I could find a nice used Max II, I wouldn't have to take the nice and clean 300/D out on the trails!

Baker Hill 7000 refresh has begun!

I began tearing the 7000 apart to hopefully stop it from leaking lubricant in the future. My grandfather told me it leaked pretty bad, which was confirmed by the fact that when I took the plug out of the bottom, not one single drop of gear oil came out The planeteries on the side I have partially disassembled looked great. There is a bit of gunk build up, but nothing a good cleaing won't fix!

Looking great....like a museum restoration! I need to drag the 400/r out once the hustler is running reliably.

Great rebuild, I am restoring the same model. What kind of wheels and tires are they?

Thanks for the compliments! It is by no means perfect, but it's clean and has a lot of sentimental value to me and that's enough for it to be perfect in my eyes. JP's got it. Those are the tires I used and although I didn't buy the wheels through that website, the ones I got through work at cost were $13 each also and basically the same exact thing.

                              ST/300/D Nearing Completion

After nearly two years in the making, my family-owned ST/300/D project has neared completion! Not to sound like someone receiving an oscar, I want to thank everyone on here who helped to make this possible. I could not have done it without this forum or without the help of many forum members who I bugged the heck out of asking hundreds of questions on everything from body work to bearings. Thank you 6x6world and its members!

Here are a few before and after pictures....and one after it's first little trail ride!

Wow...this rates a "holy crap, that looks good" comment from me

It almost makes me want to monkey around with the ST400/r that's sitting in cold storage. Wow.

You going to post any videos of it running? Please?
