What years did Attex use the JLO and when did they start using the Chaparral,and which one stood up the best,how available are JLO engine parts and or complete engines U.S side,as compared to the Chaparral,for things like cranks and capacitor discharge ignitions.Cheers

Attex offered JLO engines from the first model 297 in 1968 to the Thunderchief in 1974. They also used a few CCW and Yamaha two-strokes during that time, but the vast majority of the powerplants were JLO. The Superchief and the Spirit were the only two models to use Chaparral (Xenoah) engines: the Spirit in 1975 and maybe? 1976, the Superchief from 1975 to around 1980. There are parts available for both engines, but the CDI set for JLO is harder to find. George found a piston manufacturer that makes pistons for the G50B. They ain't cheap, but they're top quality.Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
