The Attex dragster!!! And the first ever up close pic I've seen of the Attex with the triple in the front and the seat in the back! Someone has to build that for the modified class at Ashtabula this year! I've seen that machine in videos but never up close. The dragster is obviously stretched, but it kind of looks like the body could be stretched out a bit on the other machine, possibly. The racing stripe could be covering up the seam where the two bodies were molded together.

Yes, the body and frame were both stretched. It rolled end over end the whole way down the straightaway in practice which destroyed it, so it never made the starting line!

Wow, sorry to hear that it suffered that fate. Hopefully the driver was alright. As you can probably tell from my avatar pic of me rolling one of my racers, I know what that's like, but probably not at the speed yours was traveling. I think in honor of that machine we need to build another one! Do you remember what that engine was in it?
I also noticed Bud Fischer's Scrambler semi trailer in the background of that pic.....very cool.

It was a three cylinder Rockwell. This engine ended up in the first Mckay springer and I
believe I just got that block back with the stuff i got from Tru-Way. I dont remember what cylinders were on it. The driver was alright.

Glad to hear the driver was alright. Now that you got the block back, I think it's time for you guys to build another racer!

Bill, Thanks very much for posting those pictures. Really interesting to see some 6x6 history. Being from PA, I have a special appreciation for the advanced ideas that came out of the Attex factory. Also, those pictures got me inspired to get busy working on my machine!
