3: replace engine with Briggs/ Kohler.....
        4: ride happy

            Oh, boy; you four-stroke guys.......

Kidding aside, if you want a trail machine that's going to be on long muddy rides for hours on end and have minimum maintenance, a four-stroke may be what you want (as long as you don't want to go fast). If you want something that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up straight and make your neighbor scream like a little girl, there's things you can do to the two-stroke to make that happen. A new set of rings and crank seals are a great start.

It's usually easier to remove the bolts to the mount rather than the engine itself. They're around the outside and have the rubber bushings on them. Pull the electric plug and the starter cable, and remove the carburetor and lay it aside, or remove the cables and fuel line and remove the carb for rebuild. The exhaust will come off at the cylinders if you loosen the exhaust clamps and pry the manifold away from the engine. If you turn the engine kitty-corner a little the belt will come off and the assembly should come out of the body. Good Luck!

                    Yes! Two strokes rule!

                    JLO Gaskets + Seals

JLO SNOWMOBILE PARTS UNLIMITED PISTONS AND RINGS

There are other sources that may sell the stuff cheaper yet, but I've used Pat's before and they're pretty good. I'd check ebay as well- sometimes you can find genuine JLO or Wiseco NOS parts pretty cheap.

                    Good Luck!
