That just comes down to personal preference. I love my IV for taking the whole family riding. I've owned a few II's but would rather have an Attex than a II. Hence why I own 2 Attex and no II. There's nothing wrong with them. In fact they are a great little machine. It's just personal preference.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

It's hard to get more sporty or nimble than a MaxII.....But, it is cramped with 2 people, and not much room for extra gear.
If you have a wife/small kids then go with the MaxIV. If your kids are older then go with two MaxII's. You can never have too many.

Well, I have a couple of leads on some IIs and an older IV that looks, in the pics, to be in really good shape. Gotta find the time to go look at them. Guess I'll have to suffer some motorcycle time to check them out. Shucks!

Two Max IIs are 2 1/2 hour drives away, priced between $1000 (with a b/s 16hp) that needs some holes repaired where previous owner mounted a brush guard and $3000 (18hp kohler) and a winch. There is an older Max IV (18 b/s) with roll bar, windshield, and tracks for $5000, but it's a 3 hour drive. Sure wish I could find someone closer to central Ky with a ride I could at least ride around and ask questions about ugh...

You might even be able to hitch a ride there with member locolouie View Profile: locolouie - 6x6 World I think he was planning to go. Send him a PM and maybe something can be worked out.

Sounds like a plan. One more question... Ah... Who am I kidding.
Well, how much difference would there be between a kohler 650 and a briggs 16. Is one more reliable or dependable?
                  Thanks again!

Is a Ford more reliable than a Chevy? Both should be very dependable units, but,.....anything is capable of breaking down. I would look more at which one was taken care of better.

There could be alot of difference in the machines, the kohler (unless it was owner installed) will be a newer machine with most likely splined axles and inner bearings, the b&s could be either way old or new drive line style

Well, found out the B/S powered Max is mid 80s with low hours. The Kohler powered one is newer (square lights) with unknown hours.
