Has anyone ever tried using the camo tape to cover the body on their machine?

Maybe something like these 4'x5' camo sheets would work.

I used camo tape on my chrome roll bar so it does not reflect or shine in the woods. It holds up well except for where it rubs against brush and low branches. Then it starts to get roughed up and starts to peel along the edges. I just cover the bad spots with more tape or peel off the bad stuff and replace it. I would think that you could expect the same if it was applied to the tub.

Sometimes stores like WalMart will have it in their sporting goods area usually around Fall for hunting season. Tractor Supply and Farm & Fleet/Fleet Farm has it. If you have any archery stores nearby you can usually find it. You can find it at places like Cabellas, Gander Mountain, Dicks Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops etc. The water resistant or water proof rated is by far the way to go but compared to the usual duct type camo tape, it's not cheap.
Comes in 1.5" to 3" widths. The duct type camo tape will get brittle and peel if exposed to a lot of UV sunlight. Forewarning, most tapes will leave very sticky adhesive residue if you remove it and it takes some work to remove the residue. That's why you want the better tape. Some gun shops sell camo tape that you can put on a rifle or shotgun and it's supposed to remove easily w/o leaving a residue. I have never tried it so I don't know if the claim is valid.
