  • What 1-1/4 axle bearings do yinz use?

Sup guys, question for all yinz with the 1-1/4 axles. Out at the side of the tub, what axle bearings do yinz use? They like the old school 1" bearings with a round ID or do they got a splined ID? Imma need me some sealed 1-1/4 ID bearings that will keep out the waawaa cuz im redesigning the outter most part of the axle on the coot and was just curious. ORIGINALLY the coot has Tubes that run from the outside all the way to the inside of the tub at the TT box...which i dont feel is a great idea? i mean...if your axle seal goes bad, there goes the highly priced brass gear and stuff....Gay that! Be eliminating that tube, and sealing the tub RIGHT at the outside of it....you'll eliminate water gettin anywhere near the TT box, and also eliminate the tubes from filling up with crap and eventually rotting out..(like mine did..hence why coop and i came up with the idea to eliminate them..) So yah, recommendations boys? Lemme know!!

I think you could use the argo bearings and flanges:

I would be inclined to look into two approaches that both happen to be available from Adair Argo. They have an adapter for upgrading most (or maybe all???) Argos to the new HD bearing. It might not be all that hard to adapt the adapter to your adaptation. Or, talk to them about the UHMW bearing they make.
