im trying to figure out a bench style seat that will be really soft while riding Ive considered making something with a spring/shock setup but not sure yet.. i was searching the forum and didn't find anything about what people have done other then a single seat i want something that can still fit 2 people.. btw i have a amphicat

I.ve often wondered about making a seat in a hinge on the front and a couple of shocks off a moped on the back to provide some cushion. I figured I could just make a frame out of 1" box and bolt the shocks to that and the frame. Never done any measurements, but think moped (older ones) shocks look about the right size. -
I got a maxII with the stock seat, ive tried coil springs and didn't like em much so I took the seat cover off, went to local "super store" let say, bought one of those foam bed covers, cut 3 layers out the size of my seat, then recovered it in a chunk of the good old pickup truck style knotty seat covers, I used the knotty cloth style seat cover cause I figured itd last longer than the old vynil style cause its really squishy now and lets face it, if its gunna get wet, its gunna get wet lol. Kinda like sittin on a stack of pillows now
Im sketching out an air bag idea for another project im gunna do using the small down pressure air bags off the new style john deere planters but haven't quite perfected it yet.We're not stuck, just momentarily stopped moving!

How about like the old style horse drawn buggies where there were two leaf springs bolted together with the curves in opposite direction? like this: http://www.oxbowwagonsandcoaches.com...rings-pony.jpg You could add a damper in between if they were too bouncy.Comment

Takes about 80% off of the impacts that you feel when driving over pot holes and bumps on the trail, or when coming down over a large log. Best modification that I've ever done to my Max IV.
