  • Cheaper to operate... Argo vs. Maxx

We've come to the sad conclusion that we can't afford to keep our 2005 Avenger
any longer and will sell it. Its a gas guzzler when compared to our Honda Rancher.
Routine maintainance does add to the cost as well.Yet, someday I would to buy a 6x6
    instead of the 8x8.
Usually they have smaller engines, less wheels, less chains, less sprockets...

Anyhoo... In your experience (or judgement) which would be cheaper to own, an Argo or Maxx?
Use any criteria you need (gas use, parts costs, etc.).
I don't want to dump aatvs completely I just need something a bit cheaper.

From my personal experience the Argo will use 30% more fuel on the same trip than a max with the exact same engine. Made several trips with two vehicles both with 18 hp Briggs engines. Parts are comparable for most, max axles are more expensive than Argo.

Thank you. This is what I was looking for. Any other info I might be interested in?

We found a buyer for the Avenger. I figure I'll buy a MaxxII the next time. The wife says we need a new
atv and an outboard motor for our boat first. Anyhoo, it third on the list. I'm happy enough.

The guy picked up the Avenger today. The wife is already talking about buying a new
4x4 atv next. Our Rancher is getting very worn out so I agreed. This would bring me one step closer to
          another aatv... Max II.
