  • Paint Remover

I would just like to pass on some product info on paint remover. My Max that I bought had been painted by a previous owner and I was looking for a product to remove paint from plastic. So if anyone has this problem, try Motsenbocker's, Lift Off Spray Paint Graffiti Remover. Product is water based, biodegradable and works on plastic. I found it at The Home Depot, cost about $10.00, comes in a 22 fl. oz. spray bottle. Most of the paint had come off over time, so what was left was tough. The Lift Off worked well, spray on an area let it set a few minutes, keep area wet. And with the help of a small hard brush and some elbow grease, the paint dissolves and can be wiped away with a rag. Just wear a good pair of rubber gloves to product off your hands. The Max upper body is textured so the brush really helps. Previous owner also roughed up the plastic to help paint stick so I have a lot of small scratches. Still looks better than before when it had small areas of paint here and there.

Good info Newtwo6x6, Thank you. My machine had the rear cargo area painted and like you said over time has chipped most off but I needed to find a way to remove the rest of the paint. Will try this. Thank you again

Your welcome. I cleaned off the paint from the inside and outside of my machine with one bottle, still some leftover. I cleaned the spray paint from the air cleaner cover, leaving the original black paint intact. Next I have to clean the headlight ring. This product works very well at removing spray paint from plastic and metal parts.
