  • Escargotracks

I was just playing around on Youtube, and came across a website for Escargotracks that are made by our friendly northern neighbors. Their website has a lot of different videos of the tracks in action, and they look pretty extreme. It's a completely different approach to the standard AATV track setup, and they're a lot like the track used on the ATV drill rigs we use, but to another level. They're STEEL PLATES for goodness sake. I can't imagine what these would be like on hard ground, but the snow performance is more than admirable.

    Check it out here.

    Here's a teaser pic...

I had looked into them a few years back before going with the RSBolduc track. When I spoke with the folks there, they told me that in a deep snow environment, their tracks may in fact clog up, and therefore were better suited for bog, sandy, and hard pack surfaces. Not sure if that has changed or perhaps why they added the snow kit extension. Nicely upgrade website.

I just took a look at the Bolduc tracks, and they look like they'd be better in snow. I had the pleasure of working with a tracked Argo for work a few years back. We had to collect soil samples in a pretty remote area that was consistently flooded. They were the "Argo" style tracks (whatever brand it is that actually have "Argo" stamped on them, which I imagine is "Argo" duh?) and the machine was incredible in mud/snow. It carried 400lbs of equipment and two dudes across intimidating terrain. I'd really like to get a set of tracks for my 4-stroke Attex, but the price is intimidating for something that I'd probably only use a few months out of the year.

That is similar as to how Recreatives Industries made their old style tracks for the Max AATV actually.
