  • ATV vs. ASV

Recently new to the forum/6x6 world,
and loving it I might add. I finally got around to the motor vehicle dept here in Vermont. Amazingly it took a meer 5 minutes to register my Max IV as an ASV (all surface vehicle) as opposed to an ATV (all terrain vehicle). I for one would not have thought there was a differance. But here in Vermont apparently there is. Anyhow, I guess I'm ready now for any & all surfaces

Terrain vs surface? Perhaps Republicans thought of one and the Demecrates thought of the other.

From what i was able to google , Vermont has set a limit as to weight and size and HP and maximum speed between the two and what laws effect them as to on road use and water ,,,,sounds like the ol Moped /Scooter/ Motorcycle bit to me .... it's only the money in the end that matters ....

I think the max width is 60", and the max hp is 50. As for the registration, it cost me $25 for the atv portion, $27 for the asv portion and a one time unexplainable $25 donation to the state for obamacare,

When I went to register mine here in Florida my tax folks said they didn't know what I was talking about, I guess nobody has tried to register one here in Okaloosa County. So I hit the door before they went to asking too many questions, I'll ride until I get busted by a game warden or deputy and go from there.
