Hey everyone, I was wondering what you all do for seats and seat belts during your restorations. I have 4 children(4 y.o. and under)and would like to take them for rides on my Argo. It is a mid 70's Argo 6x6(I'm waiting for Argo to confirm exact year). The bench seat needs to be redone, so I was thinking of a seat with a side bolster to help keep us from sliding around the machine so much. I would love to utilize all 4 seat spots but if I have to I can deal with only 2 seats. I thought about Jegs racing seats but I'm afraid I might not be able to reach the controls. I've already read through the seat restoration how-to and the original thread. Any input would be helpful thanks.

If you don't have a roll bar, it's better to not have seat belts. If you have a roll bar or cage, then seat belts are preferred.
In your case, the purpose is a little different. You are trying to keep young children from getting thrown out. It's a bit of a trade off in restraint vs rollover protection. Since your children are so young, I doubt you are going to be doing any on-the-edge style riding and in that case I wouldn't see the belts being a big deal without a roll bar or cage. You can bolt seat belts to the frame or to the body. If you choose to use the body, large fender washers will help distribute the load without ripping the HDPE. Cheap car seat belts would work fine and probably allow you enough room to bolt them down to the frame.
