Emergency trail repairs

We all have had break downs when it was not convenient. Maybe it was on the first day of a trip or just miles away from civilization. I'm thinking this thread will lead to some interesting stories.

Last weekend at Haspin, I took 3 machines for 2 of us to ride. After maybe a half hour of riding we noticed a broken motor mount on the MaxIV. We limped the machine back to camp thinking it was down for the weekend and Dave hopped in the Attex. He drove that till Saturday morning when the T-20 gave out.....Towed that one back to camp.
We debated for a while about swapping t-20's, when someone had a great idea.
Here's the fix that worked great the rest of the weekend.

Red green woulda used duct tape. That was a good repair Jim. Hey if the women don't find you handsome at least they'll find you handy.

well done buggyman !! reminds me how cool i thought it was when mike repaired a broken throttle cable i believe on the trail with a forked stick and i believe some tape and string maybe at busco. i was very impressed. amazing what we will do to keep riding. johnboy va.

One time while out ice fishing it was time to drag the fish house home and I broke a throttle cable. So I had to tie some fishing line on the carb so it was locked about quarter throttle and drive back that way using the t20 to slow down. Not the best but it worked. One other time in the summer the same thing happened and I hooked a long handled net on the carb. With the net over my shoulder in one hand and trying to steer with the other in a max IV was a real treat. I'm glad no one was watching lol.

This year at Busco, Fred and Cory helped me fix my t-20 supports by welding them back on. Then I ripped them completely off and broke a mount off of the tranny. Ed, Sonny, and Mike helped weld the supports back in on the frame the next morning. I drove it like with only 5 bolts holding her in the rest of the weekend. I did rip the suppirt on the broken side out again on the last ride, but she made it home and even pulled the big trailer to the back before going into surgery.
