I recently purchased a 99 Vanguard 2. It is in relatively good shape but the chains are wore out to the point the tensioners have pushed thee chained to touch. I did lots of research on the older post here as well as online for replacement chain. I know I read over and over stay away from Chinese chain. I also read to look on eBay for deals on surplus chain. So I see an auction about to end for some Peer (2 new 10' rolls for under $90 shipped). A quick search shows Peer is in Illinois. So bam I buy only to find out that the chain is made in China. Have any of you guys run Peer chain? Does anybody have any experience with that brand? Am I better off trying to resell it on EBay or should I run it?
Thank goodness and thank you for the reply. I have them being shipped now I was just hoping I hadn't bought junk that would strectch after the first few rides. I need this argo ready to go by January when the river usually gets up enough to cut off some of our deer lease.
Tensile strength is generally the determining factor in stretch.
For instance Diamond (I don't have the exact numbers) goes from 120 hour Diamond 9500# to 350 hour 14,500# for 50x2 chain.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
