Has anyone ever swapped in some snowmobile calipers and master cylinders in an older mechanical brake machine? I've been looking at friends snowmobiles and seems like I could rig it up, just wondering if anyone has tried it or if there are other cheap options out there

I am sure I read about someone in this forum adding hydraulic brakes. I don't know if they used the ones for snowmobiles. I think anything you decided to use would require modifications or brackets or whatever. If you do the mod, please post pics along with your step-by-step progress. -
It is possible to do a conversion, you may be best to do a conversion similar to the early KB models. A big problem will be figuring how to mount the master cylinder and the caliper to a system that is so much earlier in design. There are no mounting points for these either frame wise or transmission wise.
