  • Strip caulk anternatives?

I notice how everyone uses strip caulk, I wanna know if there's something equal to or better preferably in a gun? How's straight silicone work?

I can't seem to find strip caulk where I live, and I think I could do a better sealing Job with something wetter.

I used adhesive foam weatherstripping, the kind of stuff you would put around a window or door. I stuck it to the lower and set he upper on it. This may not be the best, but it's what I did.

I thought about using silicone but I was afraid it would glue the upper and lower together and be a bear to separate at some point in the future.

What about for the bearings? Is there a reason people only use silicone for between the flanges?

Strip calk is usually found in the body shop supply store. NAPA carries it here. I have used silicone in the past and found it to be ok. Once it cures if anything moves the seal is broken while strip calk stays flexible.
