I'd sure like to say hi to you all, but I don't know if i did this right or not.
I have been looking at the site for some time, and beter late than never,
decided to sign up. I started building a six wheeler about a month ago, and
have finaly, after rebuilding the frame about six times, I think I finally have a
workable platform. It will be powered with a C-1.1 liter (28 HP) Caterpillar diesel
and be hydraulicly driven. This one probably wont float at least yet. I live in
Arizona and you can probably guess why floating isnt st the top of my priprity pist.
Ill try to post some pictures when I actually have something to look at.
Hi RockSolid, welcome to the site. You started your first post just fine. It sounds like you already have a good start on a unique ATV. I look forward to seeing some pictures of it.
Hi Im more at home fixing atvs than on the computer. Ive been amphibious for about 20 years now. I live in the interior of Alaska and started out with Atexx and an old 2 stroke hustler. All MAX now, I own a II from 1974 that I rebilt with Briggs engine and added very low gearing(load it heavy and head for the swamp). In the family is a buffalo truck and MAX IV on tracks. Ive been reading this site and finally got up enough nerve to sign up. thanks for all the info.
About 6 years back I picked up an old 8X8 Argo for going bush. I''m a quadripegic an figured this would get me out and about with good reliability and least mods to adapt it to my needs. It took a while but it come together. Mods are a pair of Sparco race seats, harness and throttle brake setup.
msafi65, welcome to the site. It sounds like you have plenty of experience with ATVs especially the Max brand. Post some pictures of your fleet if you have some.
Malee, welcome to the site. Your Argo sounds very cool. Do you have any pictures. I would like to see those Sparco seats.
Hey all. Just joined the other day. I have been enjoying atv's for over 20 years and look forward to picking up my 2002 argo bigfoot. I live in vermont and spend a good amount of time playing and working in the woods.
Hi fadn, welcome to the site. If you will start a new thread in the Argo forum I'm sure someone will help you out. Physical removal of the tracks is as simple as removing one pin from each one and driving out of the tracks. Then adjust tire air pressure, etc. Some of the Argo experts will be able to help you more in the Argo forum.
Hey guys,
I have wanted a 6x6 for a long time, but prices for the newer, bigger ones kept me from buying one. I stumbled onto a
"barn fresh" Rough Rider that is all there...seats & everything...just a few light spiderweb stress cracks and a price that
I can live with.
Pretty good condition over all....and with a little gas and a jump-start......IT RUNS !!!!
I'll post some pics later to show it off after I clean it up a little.
If anyone out there has any literature or manuals on these I would really appreciate getting a copy so I can learn a little more about them
My email is: TOML99@AOL.COM
Hi Tom, welcome to the site and congratulations on your purchase. The Roughrider isn't a 6x6 that too many people own and it sounds like yours is in good shape. I can't wait to see pictures of it. I really like the slight curves of their bodies. They give it a distinct look. The only literature that is here on this site is in the brochure section here: McKee Rough Rider 6x6 ATV Someone may have more but at least those couple of ads give you some good shots of the way it looked new.
