I have been searching the net for information on skid-steer transmissions and other parts. I thought most of it was going to be custom, but here I find most of what I need is already being produced. I don't know how I missed this place in my searches. Whipper-ag's Yellow Spider Youtube video caught my attention and here I am.

I was hoping the control levers could be moved apart, one on each side of me.

The weight is also an issue. My chair weighs 325 lb and I'm 140 lb. I think I will need a beefed up chassis and a good motor.

a few months back I saw an argo 8x8 set up for a wheel chair. The back of the body was cut out and a folding ramp was in its place. The unit was not water tight and still retained the drivers seat. This modification could be reworked by removing the front seat and relocating the fuel tank so you would have a flat floor right up to the steering controls. Making it water tight would not be impossible either

That sounds interesting. I'm not sure I qualify for any assistance, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out.

Hello and welcome to the amphibious forum. I was on a Utube page the other day ,and linked onto another page , and then watched a video of a man and his friend both in wheel chair buggies riding on a pipe line trail. Was that you? Hope you find a 6x6 or 8x8 that suits you needs.

No, I'm sorry to say that I was not riding along any pipeline. I can't even drive my own buggy yet. I may have to look for those videos.

jersey, that's a great idea on the argo, with a rear entry. if you did an 6x6 you could mount 2 fuel tanks, one on each side in the location of the rear seats. making it water tight again really wouldn't be that tough... a little metal framing, and some good weather strip. Tinodesis, not a lot of people read this thread a lot, so you might get more ideas by posting in the general aatv's category.

New member saying Hi

Hi my name is Dave and I have picked up a Prairie Bobcat, not sure what year. It was half filled with mud so everything was rusted solid. I has since been rebuilt with the exception of a transmision. The transmision was missing so it only has forward movement. If there is anyone that has a transmision for any 6X6 that can be modified to fit who lives in the Moose Jaw Saskatchewan area (other areas also )Let me know. The Prairie Bobcat's were made by NIC-Mat industries in Edmonton Alberta (which is Closed ), Some parts were supposed to be avalible from British Indutries but have not found anything in Canada (seems to be in England ) I had all of the axles built at the local machine shop.

Hello All,

I started checking this site out yesterday. I bought a 1991 MAxxII several weeks ago, and I am brand new to this type of ATVing. The machine had a bent axle, but I replaced it no problem, The guys at Recreative Industries were real helpful in that little job. I look forward to reading and talking to everyone here.

New guy w/Terra Tiger

Hi there, I just had the pleasure of purchasing my first 6x6. It is a 1971 Terra Tigger. I got the orginal wheels/tires with it and they were rotted, so I am looking first for rim/tire combo if anyone has suggestions. Second order of business I need a left-side rear axel half w/bearing. Third, get the Rockwell JLO engine running, if it is even worth it? Any conversions out there that are better? Of course all this has to fit in with my beer budget
