Hello everyone! I'm Tom and wanted to say hi! My family and I just moved from a small college town into the country on about 70 acres. We now own a mountain side with 4 large gullies and lots of rough terrain, not very ideal land but it was a good deal and got us out of town. There are lots of large land owners in our area (we are small compared to everyone else) that have trails for riding atv's. We are planning to do some hobby farming on our property, chickens, pigs, bees, etc. along with cutting firewood for our own use. I have been looking at UTV's and somehow ended up here after doing some google searches. I have been reading a bunch on this site and getting excited about the idea of owning an aatv. The comments here are great and everyone provides a ton of encouragement and support. I hope to learn from you all and maybe in the next 6months to year make a decision on what to buy for use on our property. Thanks for making such a great site and I hope to be able to contribute in the future.

I am new to the 6X6 world. I just purchashed a 1998 Max IV last week. I have been riding atv's for several years. I ended up having a lot of bad luck with my recent ATV so I have decided to sell it and purchased the Max. I feel I got it for a far price of $2000.00. But it does have a transmission issue cause only one side pulls at this time. I know when it comes time for me to start working on it this is the best place to get advice/help with issues. I live in South Ga just north of Valdosta. I do a lot of riding at an ATV park called Mudmuckers in Fl. I have not seen any 6x6's there and I would like to possibly be the first to have one there. Thanks Cable

Hi Cable,
Welcome to the site.
The t-20 trans in your machine may just need adjusting.....here is the manual. http://www.6x6world.com/forums/conte...er-manual.html the last page is the adjustment instructions.
If you need to rebuild it, there is a "how to" on the homepage also. If you are mechanically inclined that is.
If not, let me know, I have a couple fresh rebuilts.
Relined bands are cheaper than new. Motion Industruies has the bearings and seals except the main brgs (they are special) and the case half seals ( factory only).........That stuff can be bought at the Max factory Contact Us - Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511

I found this great forum as a branch-out from scaledtanks.com, as my son and I are planning to build a 2-person scaled tank. The idea of the T-20 transmission lead me here. It sounds like a T-20 might be a great answer, comparing to some home-made multi-belt-selector possibilities or a total hydraulics package. Looks like a T-20 is strong enough - just trying to assess if there are newer/better options or a good forward-looking supply of parts and so forth. Thanks for the great forum!
