I own a 1998 Max IV with a 20hp Kohler engine. I use this unit mainly for ice fishing here in Colorado. Have a set of tracks which helps with snow conditions as well as slush on lake. Can anyone tell me the width of the drive belt that I need for this unit? I had some issues last week. I thought it was a clutch problems. I talked to a couple of people and they informed me that if my belt should be a minimum of 1 3/16" wide. My belt is a little less than 1 1/8". It was bought new last year with hardly any hours on usage. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Introduction
Hello all, my name is Ken and I am new to the 6x6 page, I have been riding motorcycle and quads for most of my life. I have a 9 year old son and just bought him a 6x6 Amphicat, that needs a lot of help. We live in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia and have a place in the mountains. I need some help identifying the year and model. I as told by the previous owner that it was a 1960. There are no tags any where on the body or frame. I will try and post some pix and maybe you can help us out. It has twin clutch/brake combo together on the left side under the driver seat. Thanks in advance for any info.

I'm also looking forward to hanging out here with all of you. I can see theres just a ton of info here for sure and I'll do my best to contribute where ever I can.
Thank you all for having me.

Pomadoro welcome to the site, I had seen this on c/l about 15 miles from me. I couldn't figure out the drive from the pictures posted so passed, if you look at member amphiguy 's photos in the member gallery you'll see a couple good pictures of what is missing.
The Amphicat's were made in 2 countries with 3 different transmissions.
The is a former member who has been banned from the site in NY who probably has what you need, his "collection" is for sale on c/l NY twin tiers for contact.
If you wish to look at his gallery it's amphiman1 and aatvjunky.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

honobiaone,
Welcome to the site. Those Max II's are great little machines. I've had a few of them myself. Some parts must be purchased from RI in Indiana, but a lot of the stuff is standard off the shelf parts. We will be glad to direct you to the best sources for parts and help guide you on how to get it back on the trails.l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!
