  • I live in south central VA and am in my 40's. When I was 4 years old, my dad and I went to a tire shop. As he was getting a tire plugged, I noticed an interesting atv sitting off to the side. It was an early 6x6. Since that time, I have wanted a 6x6 but couldn't justify the cost of a newer one. Recently, I did some horse-trading and got a late 90's MAX IV in great shape. So...after nearly 40 years, I'm going up and down the hills and through the creeks on my property and loving it!!! I've had dirt bikes, and I'm getting ready to sell my old 5 wheel John Deere Gator now that I have the MAX. I love its simplicity and tough construction. My only wish is that I had a little more leg room; at 6'5" my knees press against the dash. But I can live with it.

    • Hi cdhaze, welcome to the forum and congratulations on finally getting your 6x6. I'm 6'2" and I struggle with leg room in a stock Max IV as well. Many members either move the front seat back some or install a single suspension seat in the front. The bench seat is easy to move. Just a thought. Hope you continue having fun with your Max.

          • Hi dirtbee, welcome home and welcome to the forum. For your Argo question, start a new thread in the Argo forum and someone there should be able to help you out. Not everyone checks this introduction thread.

                      • Thanks Kevin, Just bought a max II that I would like to plow snow with. If I can find mounting rails for it. Country atv only has them for max IV. Don't know if Recreative Ind. will sell them seperate

                        • I am Gordon Connor. I live in Windsor Ont. I just purchased a 1984 Argo 6x6. It is in good shape. Needs a few adjustments here and there. MY son and I are going to use it at our deer camp this year. Trying to get it ready. Brakes and steering need adjusting, I fix it. Need service manual for that year!!

                          • Welcome to the forum.

Kevin, call Recreatives / Mudd-Ox or one of their dealers and ask. That's probably the quickest way to find out.

Gordon, have fun with your Argo. That should be a good hunting rig.

                              Hello All,

My name is Derek. I am currently not a owner of any AATV's, but really considering it after countless hours and years of sitting on YouTube watching videos. I would say I am addicted. I am interested in poly and metal tub machines and hope learn more about both. I look forward to reading your posts and talking with all of you.

                              • Hello Derek, welcome to the forum. I'm sure the more you hang out here, the more you're going to want an AATV. You should find a member near you and go for a ride.
