Bought this little beaut 3 weeks ago! 2007 MAX II fully loaded including the factory installed 23 hp Kohler. Our first journey we took it up to our cabin in southern Colorado at about 9500 feet of elevation and "Mad Max" ate up the 5' snow drifts like nothing. What a great investment for years to come. I am now activley searching for a Buffalo Truck if anyone knows of one in the Western united states.

Hi guys. Shane here. Have had a few older Argos in the past as well as Terra jets and AmphiCats. Just recently picked up a 1998 Argo Conquest 8x8 with 280 hours. Am in the process of replacing all the bearings and chains and regular maintenance stuff. Lots of good info here. Have been reading on here for a number of years. Thanks

Greetings all from western Montana. I picked up a 2003 Argo 6X6 Bigfoot out of Colorado last spring 2020 to use in my aquatic herbicide application company. Turns out that it was very lightly used previously, and has proven to be remarkably clean. I’ve seen far, far worse.
I will be using mainly for the amphibious capabilities; several folks I know that use these for similar work have outfitted theirs for swampy conditions. I operate in high alpine areas, mainly on private properties with numerous water bodies, so the ability to travel lightly on flotation tires, drive into the job site and then right back out is a real benefit to me. I’m halfway through a rebuild and repower project, but I’ll start a new build thread if anyone is interested in following along.Located in Western Montana

Hello, I've had a Max IV for about 4 years now that was in really great shape when i bought it used. Not sure what year it is off hand but i plan on adding the serial number to the list to see where mine fits in. I generally use it in the warmer months of the year in Tennessee to run down the hill to the lake and ferry across a short distance to where i keep my boat. Since that is my main use for it, i don't typically use it for too much else as I've tried to keep it in good running order for that purpose. I did bury it once about 30 yards from shore in the muck during spring before the water in the lake had come all the way up, had to leave it buried overnight before i could come back in the morning with a come-a-long and get it out. It's not registered as a boat so i thought the wildlife resource officers were going to have my ass. I'm to the point where i want to start pulling axles and checking bearings but have never really tore into it before. I would love to know if there is anyone that doesn't mind answering questions along the way? I've watched the youtube videos on most of the 6x6 stuff and already appreciate that information.

New owner of Max II in process of customizing. I have property on a small river and I plan on using it to access up and downstream areas for fishing and swimming. If you are interested here is my automatic trolling motor with 360 control. https://youtu.be/hf9p_GSOBIg

Hey everyone,
Glad to be accepted as part of the group. Growing up in Ohio I was lucky enough to have loads of fun on such off-road trikes as the tri rod and trisport; of which i still own the old BGW Tri Rod dad bought new back in the early 70s. It is undergoiing a maor resto at the moment. I am still scratching my head as to how those handful of companies in Northern Ohio who had the market in outdoor motorsports seeemingly cornered... how they allowed thhe apanese swipe up that industry knowing where it is today.
I do not own a 6x6 myself, but have several friends who have a blast regularly on them. I am looking at one currently across the rirver in West Virginia, and to be compete with a $500 price tag, I do not think i will pass it up. The main reason I am here is to identify some parts and possibly the entire vehicle I recently came across while visiting Mansfield this past summer. I ended up at the estate of a man who worked the duration that BGW was pumping out tri rods, and worked for Alsport as well as several other Rupp ventures for several years prior to that. I ust lucked out to be in the area whhile there was an estate sale happening after he passed away. I am going be noobing up the forums on topics such as the elusive Apex gear box that was in the 6x6 models i am pretty sure, and trying to find out what exactly this articulating trike I purchased actually is. I was told it was a concept that never made it to production; told this by the surviving family of the man who had these various models hiding out in his barn. Looking at the production plate and it being blank leads me to believe that potentially this story is true. It is nlike any model I have seen but maybe you all have info on it.
Anyway, thanks for the add and I will see you all in the threads!!!

Hi Folks, I'm Ken and i own a 200 Argo Response, (sounds like an AA meeting). I'm currently having charging problems and am hoping to find some direction on a remedy. I replaced the regulator 2 years ago and all was well until lately when it stopped charging the battery. I tested everything else and then replaced the regulator again but no luck. A local ATV repair shop advised that the stator isn't giving enough charge and I could either replace that as the magnets may be weakened or put an alternator on the engine. Either is a big job but likely the alternator is more economical.
The machine only has 155 hours on it so I'm willing to invest into what works. Hoping there's someone who's dealt with a similar situation.
Thanks ken

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.

Hello
My name is Matt
I have owned an Argo since 2005 when i bought my first Argo it was a 2005 Argo bigfoot
I recently tried to have it all restored to mint condition but it was taking longer than it should to get parts so i bought a 2018 8x8 Frontier SE (in august)
Decided i did not need 2 so I sold the 6x6 Bigfoot. Kinda wishing i would have kept it but it was getting hard to get parts for it
i tried trading that in for a 2020 Aurora 950 SX Huntmaster (the fast Standard Transmission) but they messed up and got me the HT transmission so i had to return it. That was in january of this year
now i am just sitting here patiently waiting on my 2021 Aurora 950 SX Huntmaster to show up (another month yet)
so while searching the internet and watching every single Argo video youtube has to offer i found this place.

Im Zack, Im a lineman in Florida, been a member on here for a while now but hardly ever log on. I almost bought a Max II about 4 months ago, then I almost bought a brand new 2021 Argo 6x6 650 with Adair tracks, but believe it or not I ended up with a Hoot ETV. I just got it home yesterday. Have only tooled it around the yard. Everything is in working order and drives fine. I notice its missing a drain plug in the back of the tub is about all. Just figured I'd say hello. Lets see if I can figure out how to post a pic.Attached Files
