actually i think i will buy a '' inflatable seat '' !! seriously, corbeau makes a really nice atv bench seat at $ 260. i'm going to get some different sample foams from mcmaster carr. i did buy a new seat from richards relics at at fair price, but the softness did'nt last too long. either way i'll be riding in comfort at busco. thanks for the info. johnboy

I bought a 3" thick foam mattress topper from Costco. It was made for a full sized bed and was made of "memory foam" I cut it into pieces and made several atv seats out of it. I even did a pontoon boat seat for my boat. I covered them with marine grade vinyl. All of which are holding up well. The topper was about $100, treated plywood $40, and vinyl and staples about another $50. It was enough material to do both sets of seats for a Max4 and a long pontoon boat seat. A small left over piece made a nice stadium style seat too. I had never made seats before and for my first try they turned out pretty decent.

Check out the How-to Section:
How to make your own seat
A Bronco seat for your six wheeler
I'm still running the foam from the first how-to article in my Max II and it's held up really well.

There are so many foams available now. I have wondered if layering several types is the best option. I have some real high density black 1" foam I have debated about using as a base layer and think a memory foam would be nice and cushy on top. That way when you hit a big bump, there is some real padding to stop my bum from bottoming out.l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!
