after much research and design ideas, i feel i can change my max highboy over to shaft drive. i found fairly affordable gearboxes ( 4 - 2 way and 2 - 3 way ) rated at 35 h.p. i still need to talk to the supplier to make sure they are applicable for this purpose. i measured my subframe and easily have the room to do this. i will run the chains right off the t20 thru the tub floor. those will connect to the center axle sprockets. the 3 ways on those center axles will run to the 2 ways mounted on the front and rear axles. once this is done i will fabricate a watertight chain enclosure for the chains thru the tub. those chains will be adjustable by either raising the t20 mounting plate easily or chain tensioners. it all appears to be doable. i may not have thought of every aspect...so any input from anyone on anything i would like to hear. nothing real negative, just maybe something i have'nt thought that maybe i'm missing. will i do this ? good chance for some creativity ! johnboy va.
