Trolling motor for added water speed????

    Trolling motor for added water speed????

    Ok so I am curious about trolling motors used for added water speed.

    Saw these today
    eBay Motors: TNT Motor Guide Transume Mounted Duel Trolling Motors (item 330269124853 end time Sep-14-08 12:05:18 PDT)
    would be cool to mount remotely...if they could be made to work.

    What size do you all recommend for additional thrust?

    Soon to add on a ... RHB31 Turbo..guess that would make it a

    those look like the "do ya dare floaters" kit richard sells. Seems like it would be awesome with a couple actuators to raise and lower them.

      Well I was thinking more in the lines of making them fit the Muscateer. Amphiman1's Muscateer has an indentation for a prop setup and I was thinking of making a prop setup for mine!

        Wow thats pretty cool, I didn't know they already had a spot ready for a prop.
        What I have always thought was cool was the dual prop design. If you end up with two props you should try it.

          it will probley work fine but if you do munch offroading with it it will probley get torn up or off ..i know on my maxes both tralior hitch have been bent up on rocks and stumps . jest a thought. robbie

            Well Mine does not have the opening for a prop. It is just the fact my tub is fiberglass and I have worked with glass for nearly 10 years that appeals to me in that I could add that location with little to no problem.

            I have no idea what type of drive they used originally but I figure some form or another of a trolling motor ought to work well. A single motor with high thrust would be nice.

            I thought about that, and was thinking of a metal screen guard to cover that hole....large 3/4 - 1" square openings....this is just to add thrust for water crossing not actually take the place of the wheels driving the AATV. Though if you could steer it some how...it may just be able too.

            Again that hangs off the rear as opposed to being tucked up under the tub. That one motor should be fine, I am not wanting a boat if I did, I would buy one....wait I have an 18' runnabout with 185hp I/O

              This is the advantage of the Hydrotrex dual prop set up . They have designed an alluminum cover that extends 360 degrees around each prop , thus prevently prop damage . You now have increased water speed , and easier turning left or right in the water .This is a slick set up .

                Riot, I will keep you posted on the single trolling motor deal. I am putting a 42 lb thrust Motor Guide trolling motor on my MaxII this week. Duck Season opens here in Arkansas this weekend, and I plan on having it finished by this weekend. If not by this weekend then for sure by the next. I will see if I can post a picture.

                    Trolling Motor

                    Riotwarrior, using a trolling motor works, when we put one on our Max IV it was to small and we then went up to I think 46lbs of thrust on one.
                    I used it quite a bit this summer and at the end of the day just put the battery on the charger to be safe, never had a problem.
                    Using the tires and the motor will get you across rivers and also great for fishing..
                    If your 6x6 is smaller than a Max IV it will work good!!!
                    I am looking for a used trolling motor with more thrust for out Max IV...
                    Check out my link to see how we mounted it.

                    Using a front mount works great for control and easy to get at..
                    Also we use the winch to raise and lower it and it keeps it from being banged up and out of the way...

                      im new here,love the sight,just bought a 1999 max II,14 hp b&s,just starting to have fun,want to find a trolling motor mount ans a winch mount,can anyone help,thanks and have a great 4th of July
