what is the pro vs. con between the two, I am considering an Argo 8x8 and was very curious as to how they measure up..... please chime in with info.....EVERYONE
That is a tough comparison. Argo has multiple 8x8 models so we would need to know the specific model and year. And then the transmission letter for the Argo. If you narrow it down some maybe you will get more responses.
It is almost impossible to make comparisons anyway because of so many variables. Tires and the driver are two huge factors that make a world of difference. A machine that looks inferior on paper may run circles around a machine with a less skilled operator or less appropriate tires or even how the machine is loaded.
Ok, here's my opinion on any machine vs. any machine. Estimate the contact patch of each tire, multiply length x width. This gives you the square inch of each tire, then multiply by the number of tires=total square inches of contact. Divide total weight of the vehicle by this number and you get exerted psi.
Whichever vehicle has the lowest psi would get my money for best performance in the muck. Again, this is my free opinion and is prolly worth as much!
