I’m finally taking the time to write this long winded story. It all started about 13 years ago when my girlfriends mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s been fighting strong and continues to. Some of Moms favorite activities include ATV ing ( you know those goofy type with the handle bars and four tires ) and fishing. Due to prior commitments and the hassle of hauling the boat to the lake and mechanical problems it just never happened. Well I invited her over six wheeling. I pulled up to the porch so it was easier for her to get in. I took it easy at first. Then after the third time of her telling me not to worry about getting dirty I headed for the swamp. The permanent smile on her face got bigger. Half floating half churning muck at half throttle she laughed and said “that was great”. Again I was told don’t worry about getting dirty. After several doughnuts/Dixie’s in the mud puddle we hit the swamp full speed. She had a ball as did I. The best part of this niche hobby is educating other people. After the swamp we headed down the road about a half mile down a steep hill and into the lake. As we swam the MaxIV across the eighty acre lake she couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. We popped out the other side and I told her we’re goin to my secret spot. About another half mile through the woods stopping occasionaly for a handful of blackberries we made it to a much smaller secluded lake. I killed the engine and dropped the trolling motor. Much to her surprise I pulled out two ultra light fishing poles I had jammed along the side of the seats. “Wow” she replied this just keeps getting better. She ended up catching a Crappie almost every cast. We put them in the cooler one by one. It was a nice night with no wind and no mosquitoes which was hard to believe since the mosquitoe is our state bird here in WI. We got to see beavers working their Lake and even a couple deer come down for a drink. The smile never left Moms face. We traversed both bodies of water back home with another full speed run through the swamp which she called hillbilly heaven. As we sat on the porch she told my girl friend/ her daughter all about our adventure. She was like a little kid at Christmas. I was just as happy to see her having so much fun, making this the best day six wheeling ever!

Thanks for the kind words. Moms cancer is progressing, but she’s holding tuff for now. If she feels up to it we’re gonna go for a ride in the snow in my other one with the cab and tracks. I know she would love it however getting in and out may be a problem. What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.
